ELLA By ELINROS LINDAL



Known for a high profile and classic clothing from quality material for reflective women

Elínrós was ahead of her time when she started talking about slow fashion (ie slow fashion) that make out classical clothing made ​​of quality materials. Clothing that will last a lifetime, requires less washing and is therefore environmentally friendly

The Head of Design at ELLA is Katrin Maria Karadottir. She has various experiences in design and works part time as adjunct for Iceland Academy of The Arts. Katrin studied as a designer at Studio Bercot in Paris. But at that time she had already received a degree in tailoring from Iceland. After her studies in Paris Katrin held the position as assistant to Anja von Kragh at John Galliano and Christian Dior. Katrin´s passion is hiking in the mountains and she spends most of her free time in the mountains. For the last 10 years Katrin has worked part time as a mountain guide and it is from the Icelandic nature that she receives her energy.





The Reykjavik Fashion Festival was held 16 th of March 2013. ELLA´s show was all about celebrating with very feminine shilouhettes, light colors and silk/bamboo fabrics.

New design from Freebird



Freebird opens a new store in Laugavegur 46 Reykjavík. 
The Label Freebird designed by Gunnar Hilmarsson and Kolbrún Petrea Gunnarsdóttir. 
New winter design will be presented in august/september  and the spring 2014 design will be presented in july

Coco Chanel's 100th anniversary


Chanel fashion house celebrates the moment its 100th anniversary. Celebrating the course Karl Lagerfeld has made ​​a short film about Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel, with Keira Knightley starring.

"She does not have any taste," shows two French working women  talk about the design of Coco in beginning of the film that takes place in the south of France. Back then  Coco designed especially hats for  mature ladies.

Everyone knows, however, how the sequel was, with no end in sight to the success of a fashion house in the near future.
